CAI’s COVID-19 Toolkit Helps Employers Create a Safe, Customized Relaunch Strategy

| Labor & Workplace

As companies like yours work to relaunch our economy, the NC Chamber has been sharing resources and partnering with other business-minded organizations to help you put people first and create safe workspaces for your employees and customers. One of our partners, Capital Associated Industries (CAI), has created a COVID-19 safety toolkit to assist employers like you in developing COVID-19 safety plans tailored to your specific needs.

With CAI’s permission, we are sharing this toolkit with you as we believe it offers one of the most comprehensive templates available to enable companies of all sizes to create safe, effective relaunch strategies. CAI’s toolkit includes guidance on a variety of issues related to COVID-19 compliance and offers sample policy templates you can use to customize your plan and provide notice to your employees and customers.

(Click here to access CAI’s COVID-19 toolkit on our website and to find additional resources for providing notice of your own COVID-19 plan.)

The N.C. General Assembly has passed several bills this session to strengthen COVID-19 liability protections for North Carolina employers, including Senate Bill 704 and House Bill 118, which the Chamber supported as aligning with our legislative agenda and our Relaunching North Carolina plan. Providing notice of the details of your plan is a key step to qualify for these protections. For this reason, when using this or any other template to develop your company’s relaunch strategy, it is vital that your plan align with your company’s specific needs and capabilities so that you remain in compliance with the publicized details of your plan.

The NC Chamber thanks CAI for allowing us to share this valuable resource with our members. We hope you find it useful as you implement your company’s COVID-19 safety plan. As you continue to put your people first to help relaunch North Carolina, our team is honored to serve you as a resource and voice to meet your needs.
