Manufacturing Day 2018 is right around the corner on Friday, October 5th, and we are looking forward to another great year! There are already 60 events planned throughout the state, including many hosted by NC Chamber members.

More than just a celebration of one of North Carolina’s most important industries, Manufacturing Day is a chance for employers like yours and the NC Chamber to challenge outdated stereotypes and showcase the limitless opportunities provided by careers in our field.

From tours of your facilities to roundtables in local community colleges, high schools and middle schools, there are lots of ways to increase awareness about advanced manufacturing careers. And increasing awareness is critically important – a 2016 survey found that less than 20% of parents would recommend a career in manufacturing to their child, and more than 50% of all respondents felt that manufacturing was not an exciting, challenging, or engaging profession.

Fortunately, we know differently—and that’s exactly what Manufacturing Day is all about.
