How We Evaluate Candidates
Endorsements from the NC Chamber PAC are based on the following criteria:
- A demonstrated willingness to sponsor or advocate for legislation important to business and an opposition to sponsoring or supporting bills harmful to business
- Holding positions of leadership within their chambers and/or caucuses
- General accessibility and willingness to meet with and discuss issues with representatives of the business community
- Position on key issues compared to voter preferences within their legislative districts
- Professional backgrounds and experiences in business
- General electability in their current races

Voluntary contributions to the NC Chamber PAC must be written on a personal check, charged to a credit card for which payment is made with personal funds, or made from another state or federal PAC registered with the NC State Board of Elections. Funds from corporations or business entities of any kind are prohibited by law. The maximum contribution per election is $6,800, with a maximum of $13,600 allowed to be contributed over a 2-year election cycle.
