Bledsoe Returning to Seat on Business Court

Earlier this month, the General Assembly confirmed the Honorable Louis Bledsoe’s appointment to the North Carolina Business Court. At the time of his confirmation, the NC Chamber released the following statement:

“The NC Chamber applauds the General Assembly for confirming Judge Louis Bledsoe’s reappointment to the North Carolina Business Court. Over the course of his tenure on the Business Court, Judge Bledsoe has proven to be a fair and balanced judge. The NC Chamber is pleased that he will retake his seat on the Court and continue to oversee the resolution of complex business cases.”

Judge Bledsoe was first sworn in as a Special Superior Court Judge to the Business Court in 2014 and last July, Chief Justice Mark Martin designated him the Chief Business Court Judge. Bledsoe has had a long career as a respected, reasonable jurist. We believe his presence on the Court will ensure that it continues to oversee the fair resolution of complex cases involving corporate and commercial law.

The Business Court was established in 1996 and has since provided greater legal predictability for business. Certainty is essential to a healthy legal climate and we will continue to support principled jurists who North Carolina’s business community can trust will equitably apply our state’s laws.
