Empower and Hire NC Military Spouses

Next week, the US Chamber of Commerce Foundation will kick off a working group meeting to designate North Carolina as the latest Military Spouse Economic Empowerment Zone as part of their Hiring Our Heroes initiative. The NC Chamber is proud to collaborate with a number of groups to promote military and veteran hiring, and we would welcome your partnership as we launch this important program.

Military Spouse Economic Empowerment Zones are public and private sector partnerships that aim to foster collaboration among local stakeholders and work to identify opportunities—as well as barriers to entry—for military spouses seeking meaningful employment. Local working groups lead efforts to expand military spouse hiring through nationally-recognized best practices. The North Carolina Working Group will launch next week on April 17th and you are invited to participate in this important discussion.

If you’re interested in joining the working group or simply learning more, contact Natalie Ryan who leads Economic Development & Strategic Initiatives, Military Spouse Program for the Hiring Our Heroes initiative.
