You’re Invited: Guide NC’s Strategic Economic Development Plan

| Economic Development

The NC Chamber has been asked to convene a group of business leaders to take part in an economic development strategy focus group on Monday, January 6, at 1:00 p.m. at our offices in Raleigh. We extend this opportunity to you or your designee to join Anita Brown-Graham, director of the ncIMPACT Initiative and professor of public law and government at the UNC School of Government, who will facilitate the discussion.

On behalf of the North Carolina Department of Commerce, the ncIMPACT Initiative recently hosted eight regional sessions to collect input from stakeholders across the state that will inform North Carolina’s Strategic Economic Development Plan. These regional sessions provided input for creating the state’s new four-year economic development plan, which will guide policymakers and practitioners in their work to generate more economic prosperity in the state.

Your broad view of opportunities and challenges facing the business community, and ability to think strategically about how the state might enhance your company’s competitiveness are critical to this process. During your 90 minutes together, Anita will share the output from the regional sessions and solicit your reactions, explore how the economic development plan could support the strategies set forth by the Chamber, and hear what your companies most need from state policymakers and practitioners. Your input will be shared by Anita with the working group charged with helping the Secretary of Commerce write the plan.

This is an important opportunity to have your voice heard. We look forward to hosting you on January 6th.
