NC Chamber Welcomes Mark Coggins as Director of Government Affairs

Former Top Aide to N.C. Representative David Lewis Joins Chamber’s Government Affairs Team

The NC Chamber is pleased to announce that Mark Coggins will be joining our government affairs team as director of government affairs. He will advocate for transportation, tax and finance, health care, and legal climate policies that benefit North Carolina’s competitive economy, while defending against those that threaten North Carolina’s ability to attract, keep and grow jobs.

Prior to joining the NC Chamber team, Mark served in various roles with The Honorable David Lewis in the North Carolina House of Representatives and managed various campaigns, including candidates for the N.C. House and Senate. He has developed key relationships with legislators, staff and state agency leadership over the course of his career, which will make him an effective advocate on behalf of North Carolina businesses. Mark graduated magna cum laude from Campbell University with a bachelor’s degree in political science and public administration and earned his master’s degree in public administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Mark joins Director of Government Affairs Debra Derr and Government Affairs Manager Peter Daniel Jr. on a seasoned government affairs team dedicated to creating and growing a business climate that fuels statewide economic prosperity. The NC Chamber is pleased to welcome Mark as the newest member of our team.
