NC Launches $30M Grant Program for Hurricane Helene Recovery

Governor Josh Stein announced a $30 million grant program to assist small businesses in western North Carolina recovering from Hurricane Helene.

“Small businesses are the heart of western North Carolina and need our support to get through these slow winter months,” said Stein. “The Western North Carolina Small Business grant program will help small businesses with their urgent needs and support the region’s economic recovery. I am proud these state dollars are leveraging additional Dogwood Trust dollars, and I am grateful to Dogwood for its leadership.”

Eligibility requirements:

  • Must be located in one of the 14 counties affected by Hurricane Helene
  • Must have annual revenues of $2.5 million or less
  • Must demonstrate financial hardship due to storm-related impacts
  • Can apply for grants up to $50,000
  • Funds can be used for payroll, rent, utilities, and other operating expenses
