The NC Chamber supports House Bill 765: Save the American Dream Act and will score this important workforce housing bill as a key vote.

Research shows that North Carolina is facing a significant housing inventory gap that is only expected to increase with our projected job and population growth. If addressed, housing could become a competitive advantage and a huge economic growth opportunity. Our economist estimates it would generate $489 billion in economic activity, $122 billion in wage growth, nearly 2.2 million jobs, and $51 billion in new tax revenue.

Accessible and available housing is essential to supporting our communities, strengthening infrastructure, and creating an environment where both workers and businesses can thrive. The policy in House Bill 765 is a critical step forward in that realizing that opportunity across North Carolina.
