The NC Chamber is pleased to welcome Steve Garris as our new Senior Vice President of Business Operations. 

Steve brings more than 20 years of experience building and leading global cross-functional teams across revenue, product, and finance, with a proven record of turning vision into strategy and executing at scale. 

Most recently, Steve led revenue operations at FLYR, where he aligned business infrastructure with C-suite priorities, streamlined forecasting and account planning, and integrated CRM and reporting systems that provided leadership with clear visibility into a multiyear pipeline. 

Before FLYR, Steve spent more than a decade at Red Hat, overseeing operations for 230+ professionals and $3.4B in revenue. He also held senior leadership roles at CloudBees, Tackle.io, and Sun Microsystems, where he began his career in sales before moving into operations leadership. Across each role, Steve has been recognized for his ability to bridge strategy and execution, delivering clarity, scalable processes, and sustainable growth. 

Steve holds an MBA from UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from NC State University. He is based in Raleigh. 

As we prepare to launch Carolina HealthWorks, our new small business health product, Steve’s expertise will be critical to ensuring its success and positioning the Chamber to deliver greater value to our members.
