North Carolina secured the #1 spot in CNBC’s America’s Top States for Business in 2022 and 2023 and missed the top spot by three points in 2024, coming in at #2.

Named #1 Best State for Business by Forbes in 2017, 2018, and 2019. There has not been an updated ranking since 2019.

NC was rated 2022 State of the Year by Business Facilities Magazine. Our state also secured the top spot in 2020.

North Carolina took the top spot three years in a row and won Site Selection Magazine’s 2023 Prosperity Cup, which ranks states on their success in recruiting and retaining business.
