Cameron Dawson is the director of government affairs at the NC Chamber, where he advocates for the organization’s legislative agenda, focusing on agriculture, taxation, transportation and infrastructure, AI and data privacy, and healthcare.
With more than a decade of experience in North Carolina politics in various roles, Cameron has seen the effects good policies can have on citizens across the state. Prior to joining the NC Chamber, he served as the Legislative Affairs Director for the NC Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services and as a policy advisor to the speaker of the house. His background includes advising senior leaders in the General Assembly, managing complex policy initiatives, and building trusted connections with key stakeholders across North Carolina.
Cameron was born and raised in North Carolina and earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where he studied criminal justice and political science. Outside of work, Cameron enjoys spending time with his wife, Tricia, son, Davis, and daughter, Amelia. He proudly cheers on the Charlotte 49ers, Carolina Panthers, and Atlanta Braves (regardless of how well they’re playing that season).
