NC Chamber Celebrates Third Annual MFG DAY Statewide
Today, manufacturers across the country, including nearly 60 in North Carolina, are participating in National Manufacturing (MFG) Day by opening their doors to their local communities and students. As the state affiliate for the National Association of Manufacturers, the NC Chamber is proud to celebrate our state’s largest employer and the engine of technology development and innovation in North Carolina! The NC Chamber spanned the state today to attend and participate in MFG DAY events taking place across North Carolina.
Lew Ebert, NC Chamber president and CEO, helped kick off MFG Day at Hunt Library in Raleigh with NCSU Chancellor Randy Woodson, Commerce Secretary Sharon Decker, NCSU IES Director Terri Helmlinger Ratcliff, and representatives from the NC Community Colleges and the University of North Carolina system. I participated in a panel discussion on vaccine manufacturing at Pfizer in Sanford to showcase the rewarding, highly skilled jobs available in manufacturing. We also had team members join GE Aviation in Durham and Daetwyler in Huntersville.
By working together during and after MFG DAY, manufacturers will begin to address the skilled labor shortage they face, connect with future generations, take charge of the public image of manufacturing, and ensure the ongoing prosperity of the whole industry. Read our press release here.
