First in Defense Coalition Advocates for North Carolina as Home of AUTOWARCOM
The NC Chamber and North Carolina Critical Technologies Alliance, partners in the First in Defense Coalition, sent a letter to North Carolina’s congressional delegation and state leaders urging support for the Department of War’s proposed Autonomous Warfare Command (AUTOWARCOM) and advocating for its location in North Carolina.
Announced Sept. 30, AUTOWARCOM would accelerate the development and deployment of autonomous and robotic capabilities across the military. North Carolina’s military presence, advanced manufacturing ecosystem, and research institutions make the state a strong candidate to host the command. The effort builds on the First in Defense Coalition’s mission to strengthen North Carolina’s leadership in defense manufacturing and innovation and attract greater defense investment to the state.
