How To Use North Carolina’s Foreign Trade Zones to Navigate Tariff Uncertainty & Increase Supply Chain Predictability

The NC Chamber’s Infrastructure and Supply Chain Council will host its March meeting virtually on Tuesday, March 10, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

As federal trade policy and tariffs remain increasingly volatile and unpredictable, businesses across North Carolina and the region must explore strategic tools to maintain competitiveness and limit risk.

Join us for an insightful webinar focused on how the Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) program in North Carolina can serve as a key asset in your supply chain and operations planning, including the state’s seven federally designated zones. The session will feature FTZ managers and administrators from across North Carolina, each responsible for overseeing and advancing their respective zones. Their on-the-ground experience working directly with companies provides practical insight into how FTZs function as real-world tools for operational strategy and trade planning.

This webinar is designed for leaders in supply chain, operations, customs and trade compliance, and manufacturing strategy.

Understand the key benefits that FTZs offer to importers, exporters, manufacturers, and logistics providers, including duty deferral or elimination, reduced paperwork, streamlined customs procedures, and tax advantages.

Explore why today’s FTZs are especially relevant when tariffs and trade policy remain in flux, offering flexibility in plant location, component sourcing, assembly, customs timing, and risk mitigation.

Review the practical implications for shippers and manufacturers in North Carolina, including how to align FTZ usage with operational strategy, supply chain design, tariff exposure, and cost savings.

Discover where to access state and local resources to determine if your company qualifies for FTZ status and learn how to engage with zone grantees across the state.

Council participation is reserved for NC Chamber members at the Cornerstone level or higher.
