Join us on April 18th to hear from industry expert Sheldon R. Jones, Chief Operating Officer at the Soil Health Institute in Morrisville, NC. Sheldon will share an update on major breakthroughs and future potential in the soil health arena, insights into the SHI’s mission and areas of focus, and how we can leverage the presence of this institution right here in our home state. NC-focused discussion will follow the presentation and attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions.

Meet the Soil Expert and Webinar Speaker
Mr. Sheldon Jones, a 4th generation Arizonan, was born and raised on his family’s ranch near Payson, AZ. Sheldon now serves as the Chief Operating Officer with the Soil Health Institute (SHI) and brings over 40 years of experience to the Institute, including in the private and non-profit sectors, and in public service.
Prior to joining SHI, Sheldon served as vice president at the Farm Foundation where he oversaw financial operations and project management activities.
His public service experience involved service as deputy commissioner of the Colorado Department of Agriculture and serving the executive vice president of the Agri-Business and Water Council of Arizona. From 1997 until 2002, Sheldon was the director of the Arizona Department of Agriculture. During his term, he was active in the National Association of State Departments of Agriculture, the Arizona/Mexico Commission, and the Board of Governors Agribusiness and Water Committee.
Sheldon worked in the Arizona banking industry, with a focus on ag-production and agribusiness finance, for 14 years before beginning his career in government service. He earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Agri-Business at Arizona State University.
