Steve Garris is a strategic operations executive with more than 20 years of experience leading global cross-functional teams across revenue, product, and finance. Trusted by executive leadership to turn vision into strategy and execute at scale, he has built operational infrastructure and driven growth at industry-leading organizations including Red Hat, CloudBees, FLYR, Tackle.io, and Sun Microsystems.
Most recently, Steve served as head of revenue operations at FLYR, where he led end-to-end operations and strategy execution, aligning business infrastructure with C-suite vision. He introduced cross-functional operating models, streamlined forecasting and account planning, and integrated CRM and reporting systems that gave leadership revenue visibility into a multiyear pipeline.
During more than a decade at Red Hat, Steve held multiple senior leadership roles. As senior director of global sales finance, he oversaw operations supporting 230+ professionals and $3.4B in revenue. He spearheaded automation initiatives, standardized global data definitions, and advanced executive reporting.
Steve began his career at Sun Microsystems, where he advanced from sales into operations leadership roles. Throughout his career, Steve has been recognized for his ability to bridge strategy and execution, consistently delivering operational clarity, scalable processes, and sustainable growth.
Steve holds an MBA from UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from North Carolina State University. He is based in Raleigh, N.C.
